This is a one-off, 3 hour workshop to make a ceramic chess set. This is a great introduction into modelling / sculpting, or even to clay altogether! The workshop is suitable for total beginners or those with a little more experience. You’ll be able to make a chess set that is a real talking point in your home! You can sculpt your pieces to any theme that you like, or just keep it simple and classic - that’s up to you.
Pottery is a great way to unleash your creativity and make new friends. This would also be a lovely thing to do with family members - creating chess sets to be used for generations! It's so much fun!
Your chess sets will be left to dry out and then they'll be fired. They can then be glazed to differentiate the black/white pieces (although they don’t’ have to be black and white!) and fired again. You'll be able to collect them a few weeks later.
Please note - you won’t be making the chess board - just the pieces. (And the pictures shown are not mine - but just to give you ideas!)
