Pottery Weekend - Handbuilding - 27th & 28th September 2025
Indulge in a creative and relaxing weekend with Scarab Pots, at The Chocolate Quarter in Keynsham, with our Pottery Weekend.
There are 2 options for this weekend: handbuilding or wheel throwing. This booking is for the HANDBUILDING option. The handbuilding course is with Abigail White, in our welcoming, fully accessible studio.
We will be creating a slab-built dinner set, comprising:
- a dinner plate
- a side plate
- a mug
- a bowl
- a jug
- a serving bowl
You'll also learn surface decoration techniques to make your pottery truly unique.
This is a lovely activity to do with a family member or friend - perhaps even someone visiting for the weekend. It's also a nice way to meet new people in a safe and friendly environment.
The sessions will run 9.30am until 5.30pm on both Saturday and Sunday. There will be an hour's break for lunch and a simple bread and cheese and homemade (vegetarian) soup will be included. Please get in touch if you have particular dietary requirements.
You will make and decorate your dinner set over the weekend. Your pieces will then be left to dry out, be bisque fired, then glazed and fired again. You'll be able to pick up your finished dinner set from the studio a few weeks later.
If you think wheel throwing might be more your cup of tea, this will be happening in the same studio this weekend, so check out the other bookings! If you're coming with someone, you don't have to choose the same option.
