6 Week Wheel Throwing Course starting Thurs 17/9/26 5-7pm

£210.00

Unleash your creativity with our friendly and welcoming pottery classes in our accessible studio within The Chocolate Quarter, in Keynsham.

This six-week course is suitable for those who are new to wheel throwing, as well as anyone who has worked with clay a little before and would like to develop their skills and confidence on the potter's wheel.

Led by Jonquil of Jonquil Ceramics, you'll learn the fundamental techniques of throwing clay on the wheel, including centering, opening, pulling walls and shaping simple forms. With demonstrations, guidance and plenty of individual support, you'll have the opportunity to practise at your own pace and develop your technique throughout the course.

With a maximum of just 5 students, this course offers plenty of individual guidance and a wheel of your own.

The course follows a gentle structure, allowing you to build skills week by week while also exploring your own creative ideas. Weeks 1-5 will focus on making and refining your thrown pieces, with week 6 dedicated to glazing your chosen work.

Your finished pots will be ready for you to collect and keep approximately 1-2 weeks after the course has finished.

Join us and experience the unique satisfaction of creating pottery on the wheel in a relaxed, supportive and encouraging environment.

The price includes all materials used during the course, as well as the two firings that your selected pieces will undergo in the kiln.

We have other courses available if you'd prefer handbuilding, or if you're looking for a different pottery experience.
